Meet Our Team
Yameli Pagan
Administrative Assistant & Children’s Directors

Yameli was born in South Carolina and her husband Christopher was born in New York. They met in 2011 after both moving to Florida, and have been together for almost 7 years. They have three beautiful children: Christopher, Leovanny, and Ava. Yameli has had a lot of experience in daycare and children’s ministry throughout her life, and she believes that children are a gift from God. Going through poverty and abuse in her childhood, it has given her a passion and heart to love on children. Her desire is to be an instrument in helping them grow up feeling loved, cherished, and filled with the hope and joy of knowing Jesus. After a lot of experience in an administrative role, as well as children’s care and ministry, Yameli knew that God opened up the door for her to be a part of the Refuge Team.

Ginny Shinn
Outreach Director

Ginny was born in Michigan, but raised in Clearwater, FL. She was brought up Catholic, and was saved as a teen after being invited to a youth event. Although she was saved, her faith was not encouraged, so she continued to live as if she wasn’t. At an early age she had two sons, Sean and Christopher, and was a single parent for many years. After 15 years she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Wendell. He had 4 children from his previous marriage. They married, and after 7 years they had a daughter together, Reba.  For a while she struggled with drugs and alcohol. She has been homeless and lived in poverty. After seeking the Lord again, the Lord delivered Ginny.

She is now leading and directing our outreach, and she uses her experience in the hospitality industry to help others that are walking through what she walked through. In July 2014, Ginny lost her husband to a two year battle with cancer. She and her family find comfort in knowing that he loved Jesus and that if he was still here, he would be right alongside her serving God and others.
